A native of South Carolina, Julie has lived in Atlanta since 1990. She received an A.B.J. degree in Public Relations, summa cum laude with highest honors, from the University of Georgia in 1989, followed by an M.B.A. degree in 1990, also from UGA. Julie is the Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives, Development and Alumni Relations, at Emory University.
Julie joined the Board of Directors of BTFC in 2001, after losing both her father and grandfather to brain tumors. She currently serves as President of the Board, and chairs both the Marketing/Public Relations and Strategic Planning committees.
She resides in the Morningside neighborhood of Atlanta, where she enjoys renovating her home, partaking of the many intown Atlanta activities, spending time with her rescued dog, Ginger, and working with the wonderful children and families of BTFC.
